Bisou Bisou Haiti began by organizing a safe environment for students to study and complete homework. As the program developed, local university students helped deliver small-group learning sessions.
According to the original program description, subjects included algebra, calculus, chemistry, and physics, with participating university tutors receiving internship credit and a stipend for their service.
That emphasis on students supporting students continues to shape the organization’s philosophy.
